public readable share:

      comment = Public Share
      browsable = yes
      path = /public
      public = yes
      writable = no
      write list = your_username_with_write_access_here
      guest ok = yes

add guest user:

smbpasswd -an nobody

restart samba server:

/etc/init.d/samba restart

mount share example

mount -t cifs //servername/share /mnt/share

if you get permission denied add: “-o guest”
